Introduction
DOEACC Calicut
is coordinating the implementation of the DIT, Govt of India funded project to
impart IT skills and ITeS-BPO training to around 6000 candidates in the state
of Kerala with an objective to improve the employability of the rural youth
belonging to SC/ST/Minority/Women categories in the districts of Palakkad, Thrissur, Malappuram(IT
Courses only) and Kozhikode(ITES courses only).

The Benefits
These training
programs are aimed at providing additional employability training in IT
skills and ITeS which the students can undergo as add on courses along
with their regular classes.
The ITeS training also equip the students with the necessary soft skills
which will help them to fare better in employment interviews and will
come handy for their future carrier.
Dates, Duration, Timing and Venue
The courses will be starting in August 2011,
courses 1 – 10 are of 72 hours duration, course 11 is of 180 hour
duration and course 12 is 300 hour duration. The candidates have to
undergo the training weekly 3hrs/6hrs for 3 months/5months depending on
the course selected and will be generally scheduled on holidays
(Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays etc or in the evening.) so that they
can attend the courses without affecting their regular studies.
Generally the timing would be between 9.00AM to 7.00PM and the venues
for training would be a place near to their homes/ place of study so
that the students would have to travel minimum to attend the training.
Who are Eligible
The eligibility for IT Skills courses: Candidates from SC/ST/Minority
categories with 10th pass/ 12th/ITI/ Diploma/Graduates/Undergraduates.
The eligibility for ITeS-BPO (customer care) / ITeS-BPO (Banking)
courses: Candidates from Women/ SC/ST/Minority categories with 10+2
pass, however Graduates/Final year/Diploma holders having good English
communication skills shall be given preference.
Examination and certification
On completion of the course the candidates have to appear for an
examination conducted by DOEACC Centre Calicut and successful candidates
will be issued certificate by DOEACC.
Fee
The course is fully sponsored by the Department of IT, Ministry of
Communications and Information Technology, Government of India and
selected eligible candidates need not have to pay any fees for attending
the training. Selection of candidates will be on merit basis based on
the marks obtained in the examination for educational eligibility and
will be limited to the number of seats available and other terms and
conditions stipulated by the ministry.
