Information Security for
Government Officers
In today’s scenario computer
networking is the key to flow of information. It is therefore important
to provide cyber security i.e. protecting the Computer Systems and
Networks, from hacking, information stealing, corruption etc. and it is
required at all levels -personal, corporate, state and national levels.
With the
introduction of E-Governance activities in India right from
the grass root levels, Information Security has gained high
significance. This necessitates development of specialized
manpower in this area. The Security Skills required are at
various levels including Security awareness, Technical skills
in different security disciplines like Intrusion Detection,
Deploying Firewalls, Incident Handling etc.
DOEACC CENTRE CALICUT, ( A
unit of DOEACC Society, an autonomous body of Department of Information
Technology, Govt. of India) is organizing training programs on
Information Security for Government officers.
The program consists of two
courses. The foundation course which is at an awareness level
meant for normal computer users such as employees, officers and managers
who use computers in their day to day activities. This course is of 2
days duration, focusing on cyber security awareness in normal usage of
computers.
The advanced course
aims to provide system administrators with the knowledge and skills
required to understand and monitor various security threats and plan proper
counter measures for the security of their network infrastructure. This
5 days course is emphasizing on practical oriented demos and hands on
exercises for system administrators
OBJECTIVES
- To provide Education &
Awareness in the area of Cyber Security to Govt. Employees.
- To equip the System
Administrators / IT professionals of State / Central Govt.
Organizations with sufficient skills to handle incidents, to monitor
security threats and to prevent intruder attacks.
DURATION
& SCHEDULE
The duration of the
foundation course
is 2 days and the maximum intake in a batch is 20. The duration of the
advanced course
is 5 days and the maximum intake in a batch is 20.
