MT101: CAD, Drafting and 3D Modelling (Duration :
1 Weeks)
|
Course : CAD/CAM
Course Code: MT103
Course Starting Date : 26th-March
2012
Preamble:
Automation - application of intelligence to overcome physical work - can be
achieved by sending the logical decisions to the appropriate machine controls
of the machine tool via computer i.e., reducing (or eliminating) the human
factor. Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) is a term to describe
complete automation of the plant under computer control. It uses the database
and communication technologies to integrate the design, manufacturing, and
business functions that combine the automated segment of the factory. CIM
reduces human component of manufacturing and thereby relieves the process of
its most expensive and error-prone ingredient. CIM stands for the global
methodological approach in the enterprise in order to improve the industrial
performances
Objective of the Course:
This
module gives to the participants the basic understanding of CIM and how it
differs from other automated systems. It also provides hands-on experience on
Expert systems, Machine vision, and Modelling and Simulation of CIM
Outcome of the
Course:
- Understand the
concepts of FMS, FMS and CIM
- MRP, AS/RS, Computer
Aided Inspection
- Able to Design Cells
in FMS and CIM
- Exposure to Industrail
Robots and their programming
- Exposure to Machine
Vision System
Eligibility:
B.E, B. Tech., Diploma in Mechanical, production Tool & Die, Automobile
and Industrial engineering.
