The course is aimed at giving exposure to and enhancing the knowledge and skills of engineers involved in the operation use of CNC machines, CAD packages and for those who want to provide training to others in this area. It gives exposure and on hand experience in the field of CAD/CAM, CNC machines, FMS, and CNC machines.

 

1st Week

Lathe:

2D Geometric Modeling      Creation of entities      Modification of entities      Transformations and analysing of entities      Editing and Dimensioning File conversions (Data conversions) Tool paths for      Facing, Turning, Grove cutting, drilling, taping      and external thread cutting methods Toolpaths verification and Backplot methods CNC Part Program generation.

2nd Week

Mill:

2D and 3D Geometric Modeling,      Geometry features for milling      Surfaces Generation Methods (Coons, Sweep, Rooled, Revolved, etc)      Toolpaths for 2D machining      Contouring      Pocket machining methods      Island pocketing,      Drilling,      Face milling,

3rd week

Advanced Features

Surface and Solid Modeling      3D surfaces (Creation, Modifications, Blending etc)      MasterCAM Solids, Toolpaths for 3D machining,      Surface machining methods, Verification and Backplot Methods CNC part program generation MasterCAM C-Hooks.

Facilities:

Fully Air-conditioned lab consists of CNC Machines Tools (Lathe and Milling), Mastercam X2 (with Lathe, Mill level 3, Surface and Solid modeling), PCs with higher RAM (1GB) and Graphics cards (256 MB)
