Preamble:

Given the growing demand for skilled professionals, and the rapid changes in technology, there is an increasing need to keep the academia abreast of the skill set requirement of the industry. The course has been designed to meet this requirement.
The course ‘PG Diploma in Software Technology’ is a 6 month course aimed at preparing fresh graduates for professional positions in the software and IT industry by developing advanced skills in cutting-edge technologies like .NET, J2EE and web technology.
This job-oriented course is designed with a proper balance of theory with practice, so that students get enough hands on experience. The project work at the end of the course enables students to get an exposure to industrial standards.

SW100 - Post Graduate Diploma in Software Technology

Project
Each module has a one month project. During the 1 month project period, students are required to develop software in any of the areas covered in the course under the guidance of the faculty. Students can also take up relevant projects from the industry.

Background knowledge
Participants are expected to have thorough knowledge on the following areas so that the course can be effectively completed.
Basics of Digital Electronics, Computer organization, Operating System, Data Structures
Programming in C Language – Data types, Control functions, Arrays, Functions, and pointers

Duration
Duration of the course is 6 months, including project work.

Fees
Total Course fee is Rs.30000 (Service Taxes Extra)
The fee can be paid in 2 installments,
Rs. 20000 + Service Tax before commencement of the course
Rs. 10000 + Service Tax after the 1st module
Admission Fee is Rs.250

(Total course fee including all taxes at present rate will not exceed Rs34000)

Eligibility:
 BE/BTech, Msc (IT/ computer Science / Electronics), MCA,  Diploma (Computer Sc, Electronics) or equivalent of any of these. Graduates with PGDCA or equivalent or others with appropriate experience and final year students also may apply.  
Diploma holders will only get an “Advanced Diploma in Software Technology certificate”

Admission
Admission will be based on the marks scored in the qualifying exam. Individual call letters by email or fax or by letter will be sent to the candidates for admission. The admission for selected students shall be on 04-Aug-2008. All candidates selected for admission have to be present on 04-Aug-2008 with all the necessary documents (originals and attested copies) before 10 AM. Candidates offered admission must remit the full fees or first installment of fees on the same day of counseling, failing which the admission is not guaranteed. The originals of qualifying degree certificate/ course completion certificate/ mark lists up to the last semester/year examination have to be produced for verification and the attested copies should be submitted.

We have a placement cell, which provides placement assistance to students who qualify our courses.

Faculty
The centre has a team of enthusiastic competent engineers with post graduate qualifications. Most of our engineers have undergone specialized training in various International Universities / Industries. The faculty has ample industrial consultancy experience.

Class & lab timings
 The classes and labs are from 9.15 am to 12.30 pm and 2.00 pm to 5.15 pm Monday to Friday. 

Location & How to Reach
DOEACC CENTRE, CALICUT is located 20 kms away from Calicut City and is functioning near the NITC (REC), Calicut campus. The bus stop is CEDT or ‘Panthrandu’ and the present bus fare is Rs.10.00 from city.
