The microcontroller based UPS Display unit samples one of the 8 parameters of the UPS (input voltage, output voltage, battery voltage, input current, output current, battery current, input frequency and output frequency) every 200 msec. All the parameters can be viewed on the alphanumeric LCD display one after another using keys. The parameter values on display are updated every 1 sec. The same will be also transmitted to PC every 1 sec. through serial port. Battery low information will be sent immediately on detection. The unit also features real time clock. The display unit along with PC shut down software can be used for automatic monitoring of UPS and shut down of the PCs on power failure.
